Our breakfast today

🌿Split green moong dal, Quinoa and Oats Chilla/ crepes with green chutney and adrak wali chai!

A gluten free, protein and fiber packed delicious breakfast option that doesn’t require much prepration. You can make the batter in advance and it stays good in refrigerator for 2 days.

The moong dal Chillas are also one of the most popular snacks served in North Indian weddings specially in Delhi along with the famous Dilli ki Chaat. If you don’t have Quinoa and Oats in your pantry, feel free to skip. I have shared the recipe earlier many times.

Sharing it again here for a quick reference. Please do share your feedback if you try themπŸ™‚πŸ™

Recipe- Soak 1 + 1/4 cup of split green moong dal overnight or for atleast 6 hours. Soak 1/2 cup of quinoa and 1/4 cup of oats sperately too for 6 hours. In the morning wash dal properly to remove it’s skin/ chilka. Grind all of them together with ginger, salt, green chilli, fresh corriander, asafoetida powder, chaat masala and a pinch of turmeric powder. The batter should neither be thick/ thin. Proceed to make it like dosa using oil/ghee. Serve it with chutney of your choice. You can stuff the chilla with paneer/ veggies to make it more filling.

PS: You can directly use yellow moong dal as well. The Chillas from split green moong dal are slightly more soft and has a different taste altogether.
